Frequently Asked Questions

What file types do you accept?

We currently accept STL, OBJ, 3MF, STEP, IGES, ZIP, DXF ,DWG files.

The most commonly used 3D printing file formats for upload are STL (standard, widely supported), 3MF (modern, stores color/materials), and OBJ (supports texture/color)
DXF and DWG digital technical drawings.

Which material should I choose?

PLA works for most prints and is affordable and reliable. For stronger or outdoor parts, PETG or ASA are better choices. ASA can be left outside for decades because of it's extremely high UV resistance.

How long does printing take?

3D printing times themselves vary due to part size and the materials used but usually takes a few hours, multicolour prints can sometimes heavily extend printing times. Shipping time is additional and depends on your location in New Zealand.

Do you ship across New Zealand?

Yes — we ship nationwide. Whether you’re in a main centre or rural area, we can get your print delivered.

What if my model is too large?

Very large or highly detailed models may need to be adjusted or simplified to suit the printing process. If needed, we can advise on the best approach.

Where do I get the files?
  • 3D model file repositories such as Makerworld , Printables and Thingiverse
  • 3D modeling software allows you to make your own files for 3D printing.
  • Some 3D printing videos e.g: videos about the best prints of the year can contain links to the models in the description.
